    Distilled in Uganda. Celebrated Worldwide.
Born in 1965, just three years after independence, Uganda Waragi became the country’s first-ever triple-distilled gin. It was developed by a group of 26 pioneering Ugandan distillers who formed the first association of Uganda Distillers and Vitners, led by Master Blender Joel Sentamu.
Their goal was bold and revolutionary: to bottle the spirit of a newly independent nation and introduce a premium Ugandan product to the world.
Uganda Waragi is the only gin in the world to use this exact combination of botanicals
Since 1965, Uganda Waragi has been The Spirit of Uganda—at weddings, reunions, holidays, and fireside storytelling. It has become a unifier across faiths, tribes, and generations. So much so that it naturally took on the colors of the Ugandan flag and adopted the Crested Crane—Uganda’s national bird—as its emblem.
Like the Crested Crane, which moves only in pairs, Uganda Waragi represents solidarity, grace, and enduring unity. Just as the crane dances proudly across the East African plains, Uganda Waragi moves through homes, communities, and diaspora hearts—bringing people together, one pour at a time.
Ugandans are free-spirited, progressive, peaceful, and proud—traits beautifully embodied by both the crane and the spirit that bears its silhouette.
Uganda Waragi has garnered prestigious international accolades, beginning with its first Monde Selection Gold Award in 2010. Most recently, our Premium, Coconut, and Pineapple variants earned Gold in 2022, 2023, and again in 2025, reinforcing our global commitment to excellence.
Uganda Waragi has accumulated over 26 Gold Quality Awards, reflecting decades of consistent craftsmanship, premium botanicals, and manufacturing excellence.
In 2025, Uganda Waragi finally crossed the Atlantic—not just as a drink, but as a cultural ambassador.
Thanks to a diaspora-driven initiative led by The eHub Group, LLC, Uganda Waragi is now officially available in the United States. This isn’t just an import.
It’s a movement—a bold statement that African products belong on premium shelves and in top-tier bars across the globe.
